In April, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital and Memorial Hermann Southwest
Hospital hosted the 7th and 8th-graders from Cornerstone Christian Academy along
with their STEM instructor, Laura Kubena.
During their time in the lab, students received hands-only CPR instruction, AED
instruction, a hands-on mock code simulation, and more. These students are now fully
prepared to act to save the life of someone experiencing cardiac arrest.
On May 1, 2018 Fort Bend County Judge Bob Hebert proclaimed the week of May
6 – May 12, 2018 as Hurricane Preparedness Week. Hurricane season officially began
on June 1st and continues through November 30th.
Calvary Episcopal Preparatory students having been working hard to prepare a garden
space on campus. Students will plant, weed, harvest and then cook their vegetables.

In March, CAM Fort Bend and the Fort Bend History Association opened a collaborative
exhibition in the Fort Bend County Courthouse Rotunda as part of Fotofest Fort Bend
2018. The Fotofest Global Outreach Exhibition presents a photo display of the Fort
Bend Global Initiative delegations to the countries of China, Taiwan and Turkey in an
effort to cultivate international relationships for the betterment of Fort Bend County.
Hope For Three Autism Advocates is generating awareness among law enforcement in
Fort Bend County through the development of “Safe Return” and the Fort Bend County
Sheriff ’s Department Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) programs.
Fort Bend Christian Academy softball wins third state championship in a row.
The Central Fort Bend Chamber, along with approximately 60 members of the community,
welcomed Pregnancy Resource Medical Center on May 18, 2018 to their
new location at 4411 Ave N, Rosenberg. If you would like more information on The

A total of $64,800 was raised for the ministry to perform critical, life transforming work
in the Katy/West Houston community during Katy Christian Ministries’ 19th Annual
Golf Tournament. 122 Golfers turned out to support KCM and enjoy a beautiful day
of golf and fellowship for a great cause. This was our first year at the beautiful Weston
Lakes Golf Course, and golfers enjoyed grilled burgers, Silent Auctions, a Raffle for a
65” Smart TV, a steak dinner, and awards for the tournament winners.
Congratulations to Joselyn Yang and Kolton Kaminski for being named Valedictorian
and Salutatorian of Fort Bend Christian Academy’s 2018 graduating class. Yang,
FBCA’s Valedictorian, is the daughter of Dah-Tseng Yang and Nina Yang of Sugar
Land, Texas. Kaminski, FBCA’s Salutatorian, is the son of Timothy Kaminski and Patti
Parish-Kaminski of Missouri City, Texas.
Guests enjoy socializing over dinner at the 2018 Medical Bridges Service Awards Dinner
on in April at Rice University’s Cohen House. The dinner is hosted by nonprofit Medical
Bridges Inc® to thank volunteers and partner organizations. Medical Bridges works
to keep good healthcare resources out of landfills by collecting and shipping donated
medical supplies, equipment and mobile medical clinics to healthcare providers in
