Christmas Events Kick off in Katy this Weekend

Looking for some festive weekend activities that will get you in the Christmas spirit? Katy begins its Christmas celebrations this weekend, and you won’t want to miss the fun.

Dec 3: A Katy Old Fashioned Christmas

10:00 am – 5:00 pm at 5717 Avenue B & 2nd Street

In its 12th year, this event features 200 vendors selling unique gifts for even the most hard-to-please family member. Keep your strength up with samplings from a variety of food trucks, enjoy holiday entertainment,  and relax in the beer garden while the kids exhaust themselves in inflatables. Santa just might make an appearance!

Dec 3: Christmas in the Park

5:00-9:30 pm at Katy Heritage Park

Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa, write a letter to Santa, participate in a raffle, and try your hand at creating an original Christmas craft. Your ticket includes a tour of historic homes and beautifully decorated Christmas trees. Hop on a hayride, popcorn in hand, while carolers serenade you.

Dec 3-10: Storytime with Santa

9:00 am and 10:30 am, Saturday and Tuesdays through December in Heritage Square, La Centerra

Gather the family together and join your neighbors outside in Heritage Square for Storytime with Santa, presented by Texas Children’s Hospital. Santa will spend 30-40 minutes reading stories to children by the 51-ft Christmas tree, and he is happy to pose for photos with the lucky kids who stick around. Tickets are $15 for a family of up to 4 people. All proceeds go directly to benefit Texas Children’s Hospital’s charity of choice. A small gift from Texas Children’s Hospital is also included, as well as yummy hot chocolate served by Gelato & Co.

Dec 3 -10: Pet Photos with Santa

La Centerra at Cinco Ranch

This December, grab your fur babies and capture the perfect holiday moment during Pet Photos with Santa, presented by Circle B Veterinary Hospital. Your $15 ticket purchase will include 2 digital copies of your photo, with all proceeds directly benefiting Circle B’s canine charity of choice.

Photo dates and times are:

  • Saturday, December 3rd: 1-2pm, 2:30 – 3:30pm
  • Tuesday, December 6th: 1-2pm, 2:30 – 3:30pm, 4-5pm
  • Saturday, December 10th: 1-2pm, 2:30 – 3:30pm
  • Tuesday, December 13th: 1-2pm, 2:30 – 3:30pm, 4-5pm

Hard/printed copies of your pictures can also be requested from the on-site photographer. When registering, select this option if you wish to obtain hard copies. Register HERE.




Dec. 3: Very Merry Holiday Market

10:00 – 4:00 pm at Stableside at Falcon Landing

Make a list and check it twice, because Heart To Market is bringing their annual Very Merry Holiday Market to Katy! Shop the best of local makers, vendors, and small shops at the curated pop-ups complete with kids activities, special happenings, and tons of fun for the whole family.

Dec. 3: Breakfast with Santa

8:30-10:30 am at Chick-fil-A, 25601 Nelson Way

Join the Chick-fil-A team for a joy-filled morning with Santa! Families will enjoy photos with Santa & Mrs. Clause, crafts in the elf’s workshop, and special visits from the one and only Elf Cow. Treat yourself to a FREE 4-Count Chikin’ Mini with the purchase of a meal and kick off the holiday season with great food.

Dec. 3: A Charlie Brown Christmas 5k

8:00-11:30 am at Addicks Park & Ride

Get your run on at this brand new event sponsored by Medal Dash. The Snoopy Kids Dash kicks off the event at 8:00 am and the 5K fun run/walk will begin at 8:30 am. All participants will receive a festive, top-notch, Officially Licensed Peanuts® finisher medal, participant bib, and performance tech t-shirt. There will also be an appearance by Santa and Post-Race Refreshments. Dress in holiday attire and donate a new toy to the Memorial Assistance Ministries ‘Christmas Share’ program for Houston families in need.
