Fencing

Wednesdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16, and 30, noon – 1:30 p.m. 

What do Mark Zuckerberg, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, and David Beckham all have in common? They all love fencing! Children uninterested in team sports often find fencing an excellent physical outlet through which they learn about life, competition, winning, and losing. This class will introduce the sport of fencing to children ranging from 7 to 15. For more information, visit hcp4.net/weekley.

Memorial Hermann Hospital’s “What are the Holiday Blues, and Tips to Manage Them”

Thursday, Nov. 3, 1 – 2 p.m.

The holidays can be a time of happiness and celebration, but they can also be a difficult and sad time for many. It is not uncommon for individuals to experience feelings of anxiety, sadness, loneliness, or depression during the holidays – for many reasons. A speaker from Memorial Hermann Hospital will discuss how to recognize signs of the holiday blues and how to cope and manage during this often-challenging time. Registration required. 11th Annual Diggin’ Old Stuff Archaeology Festival

Saturday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Join us for a fun day of activities at Kleb Woods Nature Center. Participate in an archaeological dig, forge your own keepsake, and tour the 1896 Kleb house. Family Movie Night, in Partnership with Houston City Councilmember Mary Nan Huffman, Featuring “Secret Life of Pets”

Saturday, Nov. 5, at 5:30 p.m.

Join Harris County Precinct 4 and Houston City Councilmember Mary Nan Huffman for family movie night. Arrive at 5:30 p.m. and meet some pets from local shelters looking for their “furever” home. All are welcome at this program designed especially for school-aged children. Each class includes a 30-minute presentation followed by an activity. Registration is required, and space is limited. Thanksgiving Luncheon and Concert

Thursday, Nov. 17, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Precinct 4’s All4Fun will host a Thanksgiving luncheon at Glazier SEC. Meal tickets will be $10 per person, and you can make your required reservation any time before the day of the event. The meal will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberries, a roll, and tea. A dessert of pumpkin or pecan pie will also be provided. At 1 p.m., a concert will be performed by La Speranza’s string trio. La Speranza is a professional group of string and wind players who bring chamber music to concert halls across Houston. The group specializes in performances on period instruments of repertoire spanning from the Baroque to early Romantic eras. For more information, visit hcp4.net/glazier.

Senior Games and Thanksgiving Catered Luncheon

Friday, Nov. 18, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Come join us for ‘42’ dominoes, canasta, bridge, Mexican Train dominoes, or pick a board game. In celebration of Thanksgiving, a traditional holiday meal will be catered for lunch. As the President and Publisher of Katy and Fort Bend Christian Magazines, Joe Menslage is committed to covering social and political news from a Christian worldview. He founded Katy Christian Magazine in 2005, which swept the greater Houston and Katy areas like a storm. That’s when Joe realized the urgent need for publications willing to give voices to the voiceless, without political correctness or censorship. Joe Menslage founded sister-publication Fort Bend Christian Magazine in 2014. Prior to creating Katy Christian Magazine, Joe Menslage led a colorful life. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, spent a great deal of his childhood in Colorado, and lived in a couple of other states before he moved to Houston in 1981. Joe was God-gifted with an entrepreneurial mind, and self-started other business ventures before he found his calling. In Joe’s words, our innate talents are given by the Lord, and are meant to be used to serve the Lord.
