Houston, TX – Dr. Johnny Teague, a rancher, historian, published author, patent holder, pastor, and candidate for Congress in the 7^th Congressional District issued the following statement regarding the Biden Administration’s resumption of nuclear talks with Iran.

“The Biden Administration resumed talks with Iran’s leaders on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).  President Biden somehow believes this will restrict Iran’s nuclear program from being weaponized and give the United States and our allies a platform to address Iran’s destabilizing bad behavior.  He is sadly mistaken.  Iran’s only motives in these talks are: one – buy time as it develops its nuclear weapons; and two – have the U.S. sanctions lifted to prevent their own people from revolting against its hardline rule. 

It is nonsense to enter an agreement with a country that has sworn the destruction of our closest ally in the region – Israel.  Iran’s leaders reiterated again this week that it is “committed to the complete destruction of Israel and the Zionist regime”.   The Israeli government is calling on its allies, especially the United States, to not give in to this nuclear blackmail.  Iran is already enriching uranium 16 times more than their agreed upon limits.  This evil regime has also denied access to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency from some of their key nuclear facilities.  All the while, Tehran is seeking to remove all monitoring aspects of the new agreement. 

This President, nor this Congress, should enter into any agreement with this self-acclaimed enemy. The Iran regime calls America the great Satan, and Israel the little Satan.  It is truly a deal with the devil that the Biden Administration is seeking to make.  It will be an agreement that the United States and Israel will long regret.  It is time to reinforce the sanctions, not remove them.  It is time to hold our cards knowing that either Iran’s dictatorship will blink, their people will take back the reins of government, or they will force the hand of nations greater and better than they.”
