The 2022 election is a critical one for our country. It is, what may be, our last opportunity to elect strong conservatives to quell the tide of the Left’s radical and socialist agenda that is currently wreaking havoc on our country and restricting our freedoms. The creation of the new congressional district: TX38, which encompasses our neighborhoods and communities, provides us an opportunity to not only elect a representative that will stand against and work to undo these damaging polices, but also one that will truly represent us and our best interests and needs in Congress.
We have a choice. Will we go with the status quo and elect someone who is backed by and will be indebted to the Establishment once in office? Or will we return OUR government to the people by electing someone that believes a representative’s job is to actually serve and represent the members of his community?
I am a regular, working-class American, but I refuse to sit back and watch the power and money-hungry elites and establishment politicians destroy this great country. I am both infuriated and heartbroken watching what is enfolding before us. Our values and culture are being undermined. Our education system is broken, and public schools are indoctrinating our children with a Marxist agenda.
Our traditional family values are being distorted. Our history is being altered and erased. Our middle class, the backbone of America’s workforce, is being decimated. Our very freedoms, including those to express our own thoughts and opinions, are being restricted. I’m willing to take a stand against this. I’m ready to fight for this country and for you.
I am not running to become a career politician. I am running to make a difference in the lives of everyday Americans. We must regain lost ground in the culture war and protect and defend our freedoms that are under attack. To do this, I believe that there are four, key areas that need to be addressed: Election Integrity, Education Reform, Media & Big Tech Censorship, and Border Security & Immigration.
Election Integrity
You may or may not think the 2020 presidential election was stolen. No doubt, that debate continues to this day. However, one can’t deny the fact that the behavior surrounding ballot counting, and the country’s limited access and visibility into that process raised many questions around its integrity and the election results. One thing we did learn: processes must be put in place to safeguard and restore trust in our elections. This is tantamount to the stability of our Republic and our democratic process. I support implementing measures to ensure the counting process isn’t hidden from the public; allow voters to verify for whom they voted after they cast their ballot; apply strict guidelines to mail-in voting; require proof of ID to vote; and ban ballot harvesting.
Education Reform
I’ve been a teacher in the public education system for 14 years. Education and teaching are both near and dear to my heart. However, the public education system needs major reform. We have a responsibility to enact policies and standards that better serve the students, training them for a successful future. Also, what we teach our children regarding how they view each other, how they view themselves, and how they view this country is vital to building strong generations of Americans.
I am a proponent of establishing a three-diploma system: Traditional, Career & Tech, and ROTC. College isn’t for everyone, and it comes with a hefty price tag often followed by years of debt. The three-diploma system will provide an option for students to be successful with or without college, ensuring they are trained and empowered with skills that will enable them to gain employment, start their own businesses, or join the military. I am also for mandating financial literacy as a required course for all students, equipping them with the necessary skills to manage their money, responsibly build credit, and build a foundation to grow their own personal wealth.
If there is anything good that has come from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is that parents found out what their children are being taught and exposed to in public schools. Radical ideologies such as Critical Race Theory (CRT) have infected our education system at every level. This Marxist ideology that teaches that one is either oppressed or an oppressor based upon the color of their skin is dangerous and must be expunged. Equally alarming, are the books found in school libraries that push homosexual and transgender agendas and are obscene and sexually explicit in nature. To all concerned parents who are speaking out at school board meetings, you have my support and my encouragement. Continue speaking out. Don’t be intimidated. As your elected representative, I won’t be intimidated. I will stand with you, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that both these damaging ideologies and materials pushing progressive agendas are eradicated from our schools.
Media & Big Tech Censorship
I’m having a hard time finding a news source that I can trust and one that isn’t pushing politically biased scripts and propaganda. The media must not be controlled by one party, pushing only party-approved, narratives and talking points. State-run media is not something that should be a part of America. It promotes groupthink and crushes any opposing ideas and voices.
Do you remember when you could say or post something on your social media accounts without waking up the next morning to find yourself suspended or de-platformed? I do, and I miss it. The media and big tech’s censorship of dissenting voices and war on the First Amendment must stop. All Americans should be able to freely express their thoughts and opinions without the threat of censorship or of being de-platformed. The social media giants must be held accountable and prohibited from continuing this behavior.
Border Security & Immigration
Living in Texas, we know first-hand the importance of having a secure border. Just last May, twelve Texas counties declared emergencies due to the border crisis and the increase in illegal crossings and human trafficking. As a result of the current administration’s border policies, more almost 2 million illegal border crossings occurred at the US-Mexico border in the first seven months of this year. A country without borders isn’t a country. It is vulnerable and weak, rather than secure and strong. We must secure our border, stopping the flow of illegal immigration, crime, and human trafficking that is pouring across it. This isn’t uncaring or inhumane. It’s common sense. I am for finishing the wall, provisioning our border and ICE agents with the tools to do their jobs, implementing harsher punishments on human traffickers, and deporting all violent criminals. We are a sovereign nation. We must act like one. We must secure and protect our border.
